On "Pure Opelka" Thursday night, TheBlaze Radio host Mike Opelka discussed former presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders' (I-Vt.) remarks about the alleged connection between Donald Trump's presidential campaign and the Russian government. Earlier on Thursday, Sanders had joined CNN’s Wolf Blitzer to discuss the possible collusion between Trump and Russia.
"Trump has received we believe, and this has to be investigated, significant financial support from people in Russia," Sanders says.
"Do you believe, senator, there was collusion?" Blitzer asked.
Sanders replied that an investigation needed to occur on that point. When pressed as to whether Sanders had seen any any "hard evidence" of collusion, he replied, "No, I have not."
Opelka wondered why the Democrats are spending so much time focusing on this issue if they have seen no proof. "Bernie, why weren't you this interested in how your own party screwed you out of the nomination? Why didn't you demand investigations there? This is the hypocrisy. This is where it all comes down to it's not about Bernie being the independent thinker that all those people thought he was. He's ultimately a party policy guy."
