This prestigious university lowered its grading criteria for women -- this is their reasoning

Oxford University, renowned worldwide for its rigorous academic programs, is allowing women complete an at-home essay rather than take the exam in person to make up for a gendered grade gap. Five percent fewer women than men are taking home top degrees in history.

Mike Slater of "The Mike Slater Show" struggled to find a way to explain such a solution to his own daughter. Does he tell her she is not as smart or capable as a man? And does this not render a degree in history from Oxford less impressive?

Women will still be required to sit for timed exams, but the alternate method is to replace some of the grading criteria. The essay version is intended to reward research skills.
