Vietnam veteran treated despicably by funeral home -- because they hadn't been paid
May 17, 2017
Mike Opelka shared the sad and inexplicable treatment that veteran George Luther Taylor received upon his death on "Pure Opelka." Taylor served during the Vietnam War, after which veterans were not welcomed warmly upon returning from battle.
Now this veteran's funeral home viewing in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, was ruined because his family's life insurance payment of $9000 had not been disbursed yet. Subsequently Taylor's body was placed on a gurney instead of in a casket.
They draped an American flag over him for the viewing. The family posted a picture on Facebook, which has garnered negative attention for the funeral home.
"How far from humanity have we strayed?" Mike asked.
