TheBlaze's Tomi Lahren appeared on ABC's popular daytime talk show "The View" last Friday to discuss a range of topics, from her meteoric rise in the news media to President Donald Trump's travel ban to abortion. In the course of the interview, Tomi revealed that she is pro-choice, a stance that surprised many of her conservative followers.
Monday morning on "The Glenn Beck Radio Program," Glenn explained why he hired Tomi when they disagree on this polarizing issue and offered his counter-argument on abortion.
"I don't hire people that are sycophants or who have my opinion," Glenn said. "I try to hire people who have a different opinion because I believe in being intellectually rigorous. I don't want straw men. I want people to make a real argument on the other side so we can learn from each other and we can grow."
Glenn then cited comments from signers of America's founding documents and state laws from America's colonial era to support his view that early Americans were both aware of and staunchly opposed to abortion.
"So I would disagree (with the idea) that you're a hypocrite if you want limited government, and yet you want the government to protect life of the unborn," Glenn concluded.
