Penn Jillette: Our social compassion evolves alongside our technological capabilities
May 30, 2017
Glenn Beck's father, shortly before his death, told him "I don't know how you guys are going to solve these problems," speaking of philosophical growth not keeping up with technological growth.
On a recent "Glenn," Penn Jillette disagreed entirely with Glenn's dad. He said people hunger for compassion now. This is evident in the push for gay marriage, which he didn't think would happen until 2050.
Now we talk about the treatment of transgendered people, which he couldn't even imagine in the 1970s.
