Twitter reacts with outrage after Whole Foods partners with Yellow Fever restaurant
May 01, 2018
A Whole Foods in Long Beach has partnered with a fast-casual Los Angeles eatery that serves Asian bowls. The restaurant, which is named Yellow Fever, was co-founded by Kelly Kim and her husband, Michael.
Twitter reacted with typical outrage, unleashing vitriol on the couple for their restaurant’s name – even though Kelly Kim has said that she chose the name as a way to re-appropriate the phrase into something positive. She was inspired by her background as an American who was born in Korea and immigrated to the U.S.
On today’s show, Doc was fed up with faux outrage that seems only designed to get retweets and isn’t actually about caring about other people.
