Republican President-elect Donald Trump has asked Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Alabama) to be his attorney general, sources close to the selection process told both CBS News and Bloomberg Politics.
CBS News noted that Sessions, a staunch conservative and a former Alabama attorney general, was the first Senate member to endorse Trump and should be one of the easier confirmations for the Trump administration.
