Report: Advisers want Trump to dance with Caitlyn Jenner during inauguration celebrations

Advisers to President-elect Donald Trump are encouraging him to dance with Caitlyn Jenner during festivities following his inauguration on Friday, according to the New York Post's Page Six.

An unnamed member of the incoming administration told Page Six that a dance with Jenner would be “a brilliant idea” for Trump.

An unnamed Republican suggested dancing with the Olympic gold medalist formerly known as Bruce would be a way for Trump to offer an olive branch to LGBT Americans who are concerned about his presidency.

“The image of Trump dancing with Caitlyn would send a strong message that he supports gay rights and trans rights,” the Republican told Page Six. “A picture is worth a thousand tweets.”

But Jenner’s publicist pushed back a bit, telling Page Six that they “can’t deal in hypotheticals.”

“We’ll just have to wait and see,” the publicist said.

People Magazine reported that Jenner will attend the inauguration as a guest of the American Unity Fund, a conservative organization that works to promote the rights of LGBT Americans.

“Caitlyn has been a Republican all her life and she sees this as an opportunity to represent and defend the LGBTQ community within the party,” a source close to Jenner told People.

Jenner has said that it was more difficult to “come out” as a Republican than it was to reveal she is a transgender woman.
