Watch: British inventor flies down roadway in world’s fastest bumper car
April 01, 2017
British inventor and widely followed YouTube personality Colin Furze fitted a traditional bumper car with a powerful sports bike engine, allowing the vehicle to reach speeds of more than 103 mph—a world record, according to Guinness World Records.
The average speed of an ordinary bumper car is 5 mph.
News service UPI reported Furze was asked to alter the slow-moving bumper car by producers for “Top Gear,” a popular television series that airs on BBC.
Furze has a popular channel on YouTube that is followed by more the 4.4 million people. At the time of publication of this article, the video of his fast-moving bumper car had been viewed more than 2.1 million times.
This isn’t the first time Furze has created an unorthodox vehicle for his fans. He is also the inventor responsible for the “hover bike,” “jet bicycle,” and “the world’s fastest mobility scooter.”
