Democrats fought to win a special election for the sixth congressional district in Georgia, pouring millions of dollars into candidate Jon Ossoff’s campaign only for him lose to Republican candidate Karen Handel.
On Friday’s “The Glenn Beck Radio Program,” Bill O’Reilly analyzed the special election and its implications for future elections – including 2020.
Democrats overplayed their hand by making Ossoff’s candidacy a huge issue, and they would have had a better shot in that particular district without spending millions on his campaign, O’Reilly asserted.
“I think that in the big urban areas there’s much more sympathy for a Democratic platform than there is in the rural areas of this country,” he said.
O’Reilly listed some of the liberal candidates that will likely run for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020: Andrew Cuomo, Elizabeth Warren and Joe Biden.
“They’re going to have to get thumped one more time before the party comes back to moderation,” he said.
