Documentary director Eli Steele share his experience growing up biracial in America

Eli Steele, director of "I Am: Or How Jack Became Black," stopped by Tomi's show on Tuesday to discuss the film and its exploration of the multiracial experience in America. Steele's grandparents married and lived as an interracial couple in Chicago in the 1940s, and their union was highly unusual at the time. Steele pointed out the absurdity of forcing Americans to select their race from five borad categories when so many of us are multiracial.
