California proves again that 'tolerance' is always a one-way street

Tolerance and diversity are on the march again in California!

That state’s apparatchiks, er, I mean, legislature is going full progressive this week, signing a death warrant for little things like freedom of speech, freedom of thought, and freedom of association. Assembly Bill 2943 would ban books, advocacy, and commercial services that support the notion that homosexual desires or gender confusion are sinful and can be overcome.

We’ve been down this crooked “How is my gay marriage going to affect you?” road before, haven’t we? And just as businesses have been shut down across the country for not marching in the pride parade that is our entire culture now, soon books like Ryan T. Anderson’s “When Harry Became Sally” will be contraband – making the bookstores that might try to sell it subject to legal prosecution. Because if you won’t sign off on strange men who feel pretty sharing the bathroom with your wife and daughter, you will be made to care.

Traditional Christian morality is actually labeled by California’s bill as “unfair or deceptive acts or practices” because “contemporary science recognizes that being lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender is part of the natural spectrum of human identity.”

Ah, of course. Science. Wait, no … contemporary science. That’s even better. Not so much a rigorous discipline of observation and experimentation; more a state of mind, where even your lying chromosomes can be on the wrong side of history.

It’s not insane or depraved at all. Just ask David Buckel. Sure, he’s ashes now, but I’m sure we can get him to briefly self-identify as a fully functioning human organism for just a few moments to verify where all of this awesome contemporary science leads.

Last weekend, the 60-year-old lawyer and strategist for homosexual and transgender causes nationwide – including the cases that legalized fake homosexual marriage in New Jersey and Iowa -- took a bath in gasoline and then lit himself on fire as part of an environmental protest.

Buckel left a suicide note that read, “My early death by fossil fuel reflects what we are doing to ourselves” and “honorable purpose in life invites honorable purpose in death." Then he compared himself to Tibetan monks known for lighting themselves on fire as a form of protest.

Wait, I thought we were talking about science? As the great prophet Nipsey Russell once said, “Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.”

Which brings me back to California’s pagan witchcraft masquerading as statecraft. The effort to rid the world of books and ideas and business that don’t toe the trans line in that state is led by cultish and emotionally unstable zealots no less preposterous than Buckel. Yet here we are, letting them run our country into the ground with impunity.

Buckel’s unraveling did all of us the favor of highlighting in grotesque detail just what the hellish destination at the end of this road paved with not-so-good intentions really looks like. It is madness in the most literal terms, totally disconnected from reality. While claiming to be science, it sets itself ablaze as an ironic, self-expressed ode to religious martyrdom.

This is idol worship, and far from denouncing it in Buckel’s case, Camilla Taylor of the homosexual advocacy group Lambda Legal is doubling down, saying she would “honor” his legacy by “continuing his fight for a better world.”

Maybe it's just me, but a place where people literally incinerate themselves in the most painful way possible doesn't sound like a "better world" to me. Sounds more like burning in hell.
