LevinTV host Mark Levin welcomed Texas Governor Greg Abbott onto his radio program Monday night, as the two addressed Sunday’s horrifying attack at the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas, that left 26 dead and at least 20 more wounded.
As Gov. Abbott explained to "The Mark Levin Show" audience, this was the "quintessential example" how "a good guy with a gun can stop a bad guy with a gun," and why more gun control is the worst thing that can come of it. Listen:
Though calls for stricter gun control are the natural reaction by many, tighter gun laws would only have resulted in the deaths of many more innocent people. If it were not for former NRA instructor Stephen Willeford nearby on scene with his rifle, the death toll very well may've been a whole lot worse than it already is.
"All the gun control laws that are needed, that could have contained this shooting, are on the books already," Gov. Abbott argued. “What we need is compliance.”
Editor's note: This article has been amended to reflect that Mr. Willeford was nearby with his rifle, not "an arsenal of weapons."
