'Indistinguishable from Democrats': Daniel Horowitz tells Mark Levin what's behind Republicans' debt-exploding budget deal

Conservative Review

While the country has been focused on the fallout from Trump's "go back" tweets this week, congressional leaders have been moving closer to a debt-exploding budget deal that hasn't gotten nearly the attention it warrants.

Thursday night on the radio, LevinTV host Mark Levin and Conservative Review senior editor Daniel Horowitz discussed the pending budget agreement and just how bleak the outcome looks for the American taxpayer. The federal government is currently spending around 18 percent more than at the same point during Obama's last year in office.

Horowitz explained that the current spending levels are the result of the budget deals that congressional Republicans cut during the last session of Congress, "and now they're looking for a repeat performance" in the current spending debate. They appear ready to hand Speaker Nancy Pelosi a debt-exploding deal that suspends the debt limit, busts spending caps, and "give away the president's leverage on the border."

So who's to blame for this upcoming fiscal disaster? Horowitz explained that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is the "main genius" behind this situation, but added that the Senate Republican Conference is full of people who "have no initiative, and frankly, they're indistinguishable from Democrats when it comes to spending."

"You know, [Republican politicians] used to say, 'Hey, look, I'm not a social conservative and I'm not a hawk, but when it comes to fiscal matters ...'" Levin said mockingly. "Now they can't even say that."

"Well, so here's what we're left with," Horowitz replied. "Eighteen percent more spending than under Obama, the border numbers are two to three times higher than under Obama, and then, when it comes to defunding Planned Parenthood, gee, what ever happened to that?"
