President Trump honors fallen law enforcement officers, pledges to stand with police
Speaking at the National Peace Officers’ Memorial Service Tuesday in Washington, D.C., President Trump honored the American law enforcement officers who lost their lives in the line of duty and pledged to do everything in his power to protect those currently serving.
He also pledged to give police officers the tools they need to do their job effectively.
The president also repeated his campaign pledge to fight for the death penalty for criminals who murder police officers.
The speech took place as part of National Police Week, an annual event which honors American law enforcement officers.
