On Sunday, Taya Kyle shared a powerful, uplifting post on Facebook remembering her late husband, U.S. Navy SEAL sniper Chris Kyle, and how she feels happy celebrating his life.

"What an odd day today is... it’s Chris’s birthday and I feel happy, really happy about his life. It isn’t overshadowed by his death today," Kyle wrote. "I don’t know if it’s all of the prayers people have been praying, my kids’ happiness, the healing we’ve been doing, my parents visiting, or just the mighty grace of God. I almost feel like I feel Chris’s happiness. Is that weird? That’s what it feels like."

Chris Kyle, the subject of the film "American Sniper," was shot and killed by Eddie Ray Routh, a mentally disturbed U.S. Marine Corps veteran, on Feb. 2, 2013, at a firing range. He was an author who wrote about his experience as a Navy SEAL, serving four combat tours in Iraq. He received several medals for bravery, including two Silver Stars and five Bronze Stars with Valor. He was survived by his wife and their two young children.
