Republican members ofthe House of Representatives are wearing special fleur-de-lis stickers in honor of Rep. Steve Scalise, R-La., who remains in serious condition at the MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C., after the attempted serial murder of Republican members of Congress by a radical left-wing zealot.

The fleur-de-lis is the official state symbol of Louisiana. It is a stylized iris that has appeared on many European coats of arms and flags in history, particularly in the French royal families. Scalise represents Louisiana's 1st congressional district.

The latest update from Speaker of the House Paul Ryan, R-Wisc., is that Scalise is "doing a lot better" but will require more surgeries to make a recovery.
