The Republican Study Committee (RSC)'s “Back to Basic Budget” would have balanced our nation's budget in four years and addresses many of its long-term fiscal liabilities. It attempted to do so by freezing federal spending until the budget is balanced, repealing and replacing ObamaCare, enacting a pro-growth tax reform to jump start economic growth, reforming welfare, and addressing the unsustainability of Social Security. Unfortunately, this amendment failed 133-291 on April 10, 2014.
