WTF MSM!? Blatant lies about radical Islamic terrorism

Blatant lies …

ABC News “chief political analyst” blatantly lies … Matthew Dowd, who bills himself as ABC News’ “chief political analyst,” tweeted something so blatantly false on Sunday that it almost makes you feel sorry for him. Dowd tweeted: “More Americans were killed in Las Vegas in one night than have been killed by radical islam [sic] in last ten years.” First, notice how conveniently the ten-year timeframe is chosen to exclude 9/11. The rest of the assertion is also patently false.

Only counting terrorist attacks on American soil — there have been more Americans killed in attacks overseas — there have been at least 88 deaths at the hands of jihadis on U.S. soil in the last ten years. In 2009 one victim was killed in Little Rock, and the Ft. Hood terrorist left 13 dead. In 2013 the Tsarnaev brothers killed three at the Boston Marathon and police officer Sean Collier later in the same week. Also in 2013, a jihadi killed a coworker in Oklahoma City. In 2015, the jihadi attack at a military recruiting station in Chattanooga killed five, and the San Bernardino terrorists killed 14. Then in 2016, the jihadi who shot up a nightclub in Orlando killed 49 innocent people. In 2017, a self-described “radical Muslim” killed a security guard the gunman thought was a police officer in Denver. There have been multiple other planned jihadi attacks that have been thwarted.

CNN journos shocked at country artists’ response … The folks over at CNN seem to be shocked that many country music artists have decided to respond to the massacre in Las Vegas by continuing to do what they do: sing. CNN is shocked they haven’t all turned into political activists overnight. Twitchy has the story.

Continued shock at Scalise’s response … The media have been in a state of shock that Rep. Steve Scalise, R-La., has not called for more gun control after being shot by a left-wing terrorist at a congressional baseball practice earlier this year. This includes NBC News.

Entertainment hypocrisy …

SNL’s weekend downplay … To show the power that Harvey Weinstein still held over the entertainment industry, even as late as Saturday night, one only had to look at Saturday Night Live. The program’s “Weekend Update” segment, which routinely skewers those making news, didn’t touch the allegations of Weinstein’s rampant sexual harassment of aspiring actresses over the past few decades. Flashing back almost exactly a year, they did cover the tape of the conversation between Billy Bush and Donald Trump about lady parts.

It’s a “New York thing” … When confronted about the readily apparent lack of Weinstein coverage on SNL, producer Lorne Michaels told the Daily Mail that is was a “New York thing.” Is it really, or is it that both producers are significant benefactors of left-wing Democrats, and any focus on Weinstein hurts the Democratic cause?

Did the Times sit on story for over a decade? … Former New York Times writer Sharon Waxman explained, in a piece for The Wrap, how she had the Weinstein sexual harassment story 13 years ago, in 2004. According to her account, it was not published as she reported because of significant pressure from Weinstein, then at Miramax, a unit of the Walt Disney Company. Matt Damon and Russell Crowe called to pressure her, according to Waxman’s account. This is a must read.
