WTF MSM!? Fishy carping about Trump's koi feeding

Deceptive editing …

Fishy … President Donald Trump and Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe participated in a koi-feeding ceremony during Trump’s visit to Japan. Here is the full, unedited cut of the ceremony. You will see both Trump and Abe, after pitching food to the fish with a utensil, dump the rest of the food out into the pond. Trump did so after his host dumped his box of food. Why am I telling you this? What relevance could it have? Well, CNN selectively edited the footage by zooming in on Trump to make it seem like only Trump dumped the food and that it was a faux pas. Stunts like that are petty and the reason why — say it with me — many don’t trust the media.

All the laughs … This morning, on the Today show, Dan Rather was on to pitch his new book. Then things got weird. NBC’s Savannah Guthrie actually asked Rather why people think the media fabricates stories about Trump. Yep … Guthrie asked the guy who got fired from CBS News for basically making up news stories about a sitting president why people think the press makes up news about a Republican president. You can’t make this stuff up.

Like clockwork …

Shocking, this journalist doesn’t understand gun laws … As more information is learned about the person who shot up a church in Texas yesterday, media types can’t resist the hot takes. Like David Frum of The Atlantic, who tweeted: “Crazy thought: lifetime gun ban for anyone who raises a hand against a woman or a child.” The Free Beacon’s Alex Griswold and Stephen Gutowski both quickly reminded Frum that the law already does this. Frum should put his hot takes on ice.

Hollywood pontificating … Celebrity Twitter has predictably been one long rant against guns and gun ownership for the last 18 or so hours. Yes, the people who work in an industry that protects sex predators still feel they need to weigh in on this. RedState’s Caleb Howe had a great point on Twitter: “Hollywood is preaching from their moral high ground this week. Amazing.”

Another hot take … The Washington Post’s Elizabeth Bruenig thought she’d get one over on Brad Thor. Last week, Thor tweeted that the jihadi who drove a truck into a crowd in NYC “wouldn’t have made it 8 blocks” in Nashville. At about 6 p.m. last night, as the news was breaking about the shooting, Bruenig tweeted: “we did not even have to wait an entire week for this to be proven wrong again.” Except it wasn’t proven wrong. A good guy with a gun killed a bad guy with a gun. Brad Thor reminded Bruenig of that. “Journalists” should let the facts develop.
