A suburban Chicago woman was arrested yesterday on charges of misdemeanor theft, after police say she stole two flags from a police officer's memorial and later burned them.
The woman, 19-year-old Zhenia Buttry, allegedly admitted to the crimes once caught. She may have also taken another flag from a different park, as well as some street signs.
How did they catch her? The police chief says tips from the department's Facebook page helped lead to the woman's arrest.
UPDATE:
The title of this story has been changed to reflect that the stolen flags were "Morris Police Department" flags.
