Texas Skateboarder Swoops in to Stop Koran Burning

You have to hand it to Jacob Isom.  You better hand it to him. If you don't he might take it anyway!  The 23-year-old Texas is getting plaudits across Amarillo for single-handedly stopping a Koran burning. David Grisham, of Repent Amarillo, probably never saw it coming.

Protesters threw their hands on the grill Grisham planned to use to burn the Quran, someone took his lighter and Isom stole the Quran, leaving him with just lighter fluid.

This led KFDA-TV to use the appropriate headline: Quran Not Burned in Amarillo City Park. Regardless of your preferred spelling of Islam's sacred text, Isom has summed up his actions by describing what he told Grisham in that sudden rush of the moment:

"I snook up behind him and took his Quran.  He said something about burning the Quran.  I said 'dude you have no Quran' and ran off."
