On the heels of New York gubernatorial candidate Carl Paladino's (R) comments about gays last week, and the recent "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" ruling, the "gay" question is becoming a staple in GOP interviews.
David Gregory asked it of Colorado Senate hopeful Ken Buck (R) this morning on "Meet the Press." Buck wasn't ashamed to say what he thought, but did seem a little surprised by the follow-up:
Buck bases his opinion on the idea that we all have a choice regarding our partners, but did concede that birth could play a small role in determining one's orientation just as it can with alcoholism.
Gregory was sure to give Buck's opponent Sen. Michael Bennet, who appeared alongside Buck, a softball follow-up: "That put him [Buck] outside the mainstream of views on this?"
According to RealClearPolitics, Buck leads Bennet by an average of two points.
