Palin Kills a Caribou

This week's episode of "Sarah Palin's Alaska" presented one of rural America's favorite past-times: hunting in the great outdoors.  On Palin's agenda was a caribou hunting trip with her father, Heath:

After animal activists complained about the "controversial" hunting sequence on Palin's TLC program, the former vice presidential candidate responded via Facebook:

Tonight's hunting episode of Sarah Palin's Alaska "controversial"? Really? Unless you've never worn leather shoes, sat upon a leather couch

or eaten a piece of meat, save your condemnation of tonight's episode. I remain proudly intolerant of anti-hunting hypocrisy. :)

Ted Nugent must've really enjoyed the episode. In a pre-show interview with the bloggers at SPAlaska.com, the classic rocker and hunting enthusiast praised God and his hunting "bloodbrothers" for the glory that is hunting (or what The Nuge calls a real "hands-on connection to that which sustains us").  Palin is in good company among Nugent's conservationist "heroes" Davy Crockett and Daniel Boone:

Next week's sneak peek: Palin's rugged Alaskan lifestyle brings TLC's mother-of-eight, Kate Gosselin, to tears:
