Muslim 'call to prayer' rings out in Brooklyn, N.Y.

A video circulating around the blogosphere seeming to show a Muslim adhan, or call to prayer, being broadcast over a mosque's loudspeaker in Brooklyn, N.Y., has a number of people upset and even outraged:

The mosque, Masjid At-Taqwa, is reportedly located in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn and the site Logan's Warning claims to have captured the video above last Thursday, around 6:00 a.m.  According to the website, the message translation reads:

Allah is most great. Allah is most great.

Allah is most great. Allah is most great.

I testify that there is no God but Allah.

I testify that there is no God but Allah.

I testify that Mohammad is the messenger of God.

I testify that Mohammad is the messenger of God.

Come to prayer! Come to prayer!

Come to success. Come to success.

God is most great. God is most great.

There is no God but Allah.

In a country increasingly obsessed with political correctness, it's hard to imagine what kind of outcry would take place if a Christian church played Christmas carols over a loudspeaker at this time of year, let alone messages that proclaim the superiority of Jesus Christ.  The ACLU would have them run out of town!

"Christians and Jews in the neighbourhood (sic) should be outraged by this blatant (disrespect) of their beliefs," Logan's Warning states.  Additionally, the site also notes that the mosque's leader, Imam Siraj Wahhaj, has not been a stranger to controversy in the past and quote this from one of his past speeches:

“…And [Allah] declared ‘Whoever is at war with my friends, I declare war on them.’ … Your true friend is Allah, the messenger, and those who believe…. Hear what I’m telling you well. The Americans are not your friends … The Canadians are not your friends … The Europeans are not your friends. Your friend is Allah, the Messenger and those who believe. These people will never be satisfied with you until you follow their religion …”

Seriously?  Non-Muslims can't even say the word "ham," or have Santa Claus visit preschoolers because it might offend Muslims, but Muslims are free to broadcast their religious superiority complex to the entire neighborhood?

Where is the line of tolerance drawn?
