CNN's John King last night vented a bit of frustration that his network has a "Fox problem," noting the limited access to a number of potential 2012 GOP presidential contenders who are contractually tied to Fox News, including Sarah Palin, Mike Huckabee and Newt Gingrich.
“When it comes to covering the early maneuverings of the 2012 presidential race, we at CNN have what I'll call ‘The Fox problem,'" King said. "[T]hey're not supposed to sit down for interviews with CNN,” he added.
King was, however, able to secure a short interview with former House Speaker Gingrich over the weekend in Simi Valley, Calif., during the centennial celebration of President Ronald Reagan's birthday.
If any of the Fox contributors decide to throw their hat into the 2012 race, they will need to cancel their Fox contracts in the next few months as campaigns kick off.
