Peugeot Sells For 2.5 Million Dollars. Not The Company, Just One Car!

Beleaguered Iranian President Ahmadinejad sold his 34yr old car in a charity auction that netted $2.5 million dollars.  The auction proceeds are allegedly going to a fund that will help provide housing for low income families in Iran.   The state run news agency reported the results:

"President Ahmadinejad's Peugeot 504 was sold for 2.5 billion tomans ($2.5 million) to an Iranian who took part in the auction."

The average Iranian worker earns the equivalent of $500 per month, so it is doubtful that Iran's version of Joe The Plumber nabbed this snappy ride.

At one point in my life I owned a 1977 Peugeot 504 sedan and can confidently state it was probably the worst automobile I have ever owned. To the sucker who bought this beast... Good luck.
