GOP presidential contender Herman Cain is out with a new video to help explain his roots and political philosophy. Set to the tune of of a rockin' country ballad, I'm pretty sure Cain is the first candidate for 2012 with his own *official* music video:
The Daily Caller notes some details to watch for:
Around the 2:22 mark, you’ll see that Cain can even get Lee Fang of Think Progress to laugh (and possibly, mock Obama). How many GOP candidates would have this rapport with what is essentially a liberal tracker? At around the 3:30 mark, Cain says: “My great, great grandparents were slaves, and now I’m running for President of the United States of America. Is this a great country, or what?” This struck me as a good line — and a reminder that Cain is, in a sense, a metaphor for The American Dream.
Around the 3:10 mark, I’m pretty sure that’s Joe The Plumber saying, “Hey Obama, you’re going to raise a billion dollars? Well we’re going to raise some Cain, brother.” Dr. Alveda King also makes an appearance.
