Reporter roughed up by Bachmann's 'Mafia people

ABC's Brian Ross was chasing Michele Bachmann to get an on-the-record comment after her speech in South Carolina on Tuesday when things turned unexpectedly physical for the reporter.

Ross was throwing out questions to the presidential candidate about her reported debilitating migraines as she made her her way out of the event. Bachmann, who read a statement on the issue earlier at the speaking engagement, ignored the question several times. Time magazine's Michael Crowley, who was also at the event, reports:

When Ross made a beeline for the white SUV waiting to carry Bachmann away, two Bachmann men pounced on him, grabbing and pushing him multiple times with what looked to me like unusual force. [...] Ross was finally able to break away and lob his question at Bachmann one more time, but she continued to ignore him.Afterward, I asked Ross — a hard-nosed pro who nevertheless seemed slightly shaken — whether he had ever been treated so roughly. “A few times,” he told me. “Mostly by Mafia people.”

Senior Vice President of ABC News Jeffrey Schneider said the altercation was captured on video and said ABC will likely upload it to its website "at some point," according to the Washington Post.
