Despite the lingering questions about a sexual harassment suit from the 1990s and holes in Herman Cain's foreign policy knowledge that some call worrisome, the "Cain Train" appears to be picking up speed.
- Politico, the site that broke the story about the alleged sexual harassment, is reporting "Cain Leads, Perry Bleeds".
- As Herman Cain's populist appeal seems to be on the rise, money is also following. Last month, Business Insider reported Cain raised $5 million dollars and after the Politico story broke and the media storm churned, donations poured into the Cain office.
On Monday, Herman Cain was making plans beyond the primary season and discussed those plans with talk radio host Simon Conway of WHO News Talk Radio 1040. He even addressed a possible Cain - Gingrich ticket, saying Gingrich is "looking well:"
Cain and Gingrich will also be seen together on a stage in Texas this weekend. The Texas Tea Party Patriots are sponsoring a "debate-discussion" that has been compared to the Lincoln-Douglas debates.
Is this a preview of the 2012 GOP ticket? Or possibly an independent, third party ticket?
