Kylie Bisutti Quits Victoria's Secret Lingerie Modeling Career...Because of Her Christian Faith

"I just started becoming more uncomfortable with it because of my faith."

When Kylie Bisutti won the Victoria's Secret Model Search in 2009, she was elated. Considering her initial excitement, some may be scratching their heads to hear that the model, now 21, has decided to turn her back on the profession that once brought her such immense fulfillment. She's citing her Christian beliefs as the reason for her departure.

"Victoria's Secret was my absolutely biggest goal in life, and it was all I ever wanted career-wise," she explained. "But the more I was modeling lingerie, and lingerie isn't clothing, I just started becoming more uncomfortable with it because of my faith."

Initially, posing in sexy lingerie wasn't a major problem for her. But after two years of posing in provocative garb, she began to feel more compelled than ever to change course. Additionally, she maintains that her husband should be the only individual to see her body so openly (Bisutti married right before beating out 10,000 other contestants in the well-publicized model search).

"My body should only be for my husband and it's just a sacred thing," she continued, reaffirming her belief that modeling lingerie isn't morally sound. "I didn't really want to be that kind of role model for younger girls because I had a lot of younger Christian girls that were looking up to me and then thinking that it was okay for them to walk around and show their bodies in lingerie to guys."

Bisutti went on to say that she hopes to be a better role model for young people. Rather than being someone who "dresses inappropriately," she says she wants to be someone that young girls can look up to. For Biscutti, following her moral compass is more important than the fame and attention she'd receive by continuing her Victoria's Secret career.

"It was pretty crazy because I finally achieved my biggest dream, the dream that I always wanted, but when I finally got it, it wasn't all that I thought it would be," she explained, going on to reaffirm her change in priorities. "Especially being married I just wanted to keep my marriage sacred because divorce rates now in America are pretty high, and I just want to do everything I can to keep my marriage special."

While she's putting Victoria's Secret behind her, Bisutti will still be continuing her modeling career. She's currently working on a CW show and recently appeared in a commercial for Kohl's. From the sound of it, success will be ahead.
