Speaking candidly with sports columnist Bill Simmons in a podcast interview, President Barack Obama prided himself on being a fan of NBA phenom Jeremy Lin before the New York Knicks point guard shot to international stardom.
"I knew about Jeremy before you did, or everybody else did," Obama told Simmons. "I've been on the Jeremy Lin bandwagon for a while."
"Are you taking credit for 'Linsanity'? It kind of feels like you are a little bit," Simmons quipped.
"I can't take credit for it," Obama replied, "but I'm just saying I was there early."
Speaking on his affinity for sports, Obama also took an opportunity to predict his own reelection, tying it to hopes of a championship win for his beloved Chicago Bulls. "I've got another five years here," he said, "and somewhere along the line my Bulls are going to come through here. Absolutely."
