During today's White House press briefing, a pool reporter asked press secretary Jay Carney to comment on Vice President Joe Biden's recent assertion the raid on Osama bin Laden's compound in Pakistan was "the most audacious" plan hatched in the last 500 years.
"More audacious than D-Day?" the reporter asked.
"Well the historical assessments I'll leave to him (Biden) and others," Carney answered. "But there's no question that this was a very very difficult decision that only commanders in chief have to make."
Update: Good news -- there's video. The WH press corps laughs at Biden's comments and Carney successfully dodges the question, per usual.
