Romney Blurts Out 'Press Secretary' After Leno Asks About Santorum During Name Game

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney appeared on the "Tonight Show" with Jay Leno Tuesday night. During an interesting name game that to some, given the trips and tribulations of the primary, may have been more likely to produce a politically hazardous gaffe than a laugh, Romney gave a hint that Rick Santorum may have a place in the West Wing next year if Romney wins.

"Press Secretary," Romney swiftly replied when Leno brought up Santorum during a segment when the Republican front-runner was suppose to say the first words that came to his mind as the late-night host ran down a list of potential running mates:

Still, the press secretary reply may have not been a hint at a future job but rather a subtle jab at Santorum following his recent clash with a New York Times reporter, when the former Pennsylvania cursed and accused the reporter of misinterpreting some of his remarks.

Romney eventually cracked that he would likely select Leno rival David Letterman as his vice president.
