Apparently the McDonald's employee who claimed to have the Mega Millions winning ticket didn't after all. The Baltimore Sun reports that someone else - who wishes to remain anonymous - has come forward to claim their winnings in the same state as that alleged winner:
The holder of the winning Mega Millions ticket purchased inBaltimore County stepped forward Monday to claim the prize, officials said.
Maryland Lottery spokeswoman Carole Everett did not identify the winner, who will share the largest lottery prize in history.
Everett said the winner will remain anonymous, but the Maryland Lottery will share a "storyline" with the public during a news conference Tuesday morning.
So much for that 15 minutes of fame, then.
