Romney camp responds to Ted Nugent's 'divisive, offensive' language

At the NRA's annual convention last weekend rocker and outspoken conservative Ted Nugent made news for saying, among other things, "If Barack Obama becomes the president in November, again, I will be either be dead or in jail by this time next year."

As Becket Adamsreported yesterday, the Secret Service have said they are "aware of" Nugent's comments and would "conduct an appropriate follow up."

Mitt Romney's campaign weighed in on the situation yesterday as well.

“Divisive language is offensive no matter what side of the political aisle it comes from,” Romney spokesperson Andrea Saul told TPM. “Mitt Romney believes everyone needs to be civil.”

Nugent endorsed Romney in March.

Tagg Romney, Mitt's son, tweeted about it at the time.
