In an interview with MSNBC's Chris Matthews last week Newt Gingrich was faced with a barrage of questions about why he likes to visit zoos, which animals are his favorite and what's his favorite snake (he said anaconda, teehee). Today on "Morning Joe" Gingrich was asked to reflect on that interview by Matthews' colleague Joe Scarborough.
"So what were you thinking as Chris Matthews came at you 35 miles an hour with all of these questions about reptiles when you were going on there to talk politics?" Scarborough asked.
The answer is simple: "You know, part of the reason that Chris keeps that show is that he’s slightly whacked, and you never quite know where you’re going," Gingrich said.
Truer words have never been spoken.
