Majority of Americans want Supreme Court to overturn individual mandate in Obamacare

The Supreme Court is set to make their decision on the Affordable Care Act--commonly known as Obamacare--by the end of June. Growing anticipation for the ruling has centered around how the court will rule on the individual health care mandate in Obamacare, which many commentators at the time of the hearings said the mandate will likely be thrown out; if not the entire legislation. A new CBS News/New York Times poll on the upcoming decision reveals that nearly seven in ten Americans want the Supreme Court to overturn either all of the law or at least the individual mandate.

Forty-one percent of Americans now say the want the court to overturn the entire law, and an additional 27 percent want to see the mandate go. CBS notes that the percentage in favor of overturning the entire law is up slightly since April, when 37 percent said they wanted the court to overturn the full law and 29 percent said only the mandate should be overturned.
