A picture is worth 1,000 words: America's droupouts


To help spread public awareness about the estimated 857 students nationwide who drop out of school every hour, the College Board placed 857 empty school desks on the National Mall in Washington, DC on Wednesday.  The images are a powerful reminder -- a sea of missing students:

The College Board is calling upon both President Barack Obama and GOP challenger Mitt Romney to make education a prominent issue in the 2012 election and to help put the nation's schools back on track.
