Google has analyzed political news and the various ways Americans absorb it and whittled their findings down into one handy chart:

According to the research, voters are turning away from television and turning to the internet for their political news. One-third of those who have seen a campaign ad on YouTube have not seen the same ad on television and one-third of likely voters say they had not watched TV in the past week. Meanwhile, out of those who do watch TV for political news, 80% of smartphone owners actively use internet on their devices while watching television.
