Disgusting': Participants in 'World Naked Bike Race' Seemingly Bring Their Children

"The idea that somehow children are negatively affected by non-sexualized nudity is a myth"

Editor's Note: The following story includes a content warning for video that contain brief nudity.

The "World Naked Bike Ride in St. Louis" Facebook page encourages bikers to "protest oil dependency," "raise awareness of cyclist rights," and advocate a "positive body image" by taking to the streets of St. Louis on their bicycles.

An estimated 500 people turned up, according to KDSK, and the movement reportedly has fans in 70 cities and 20 different countries.

But even if riding a bicycle naked in the dark could actually accomplish any of those things, at what point does a sane person decide not to bring their children to the event?

Gateway Pundit reported on disturbing video from the race, where a woman seemingly stripped her young daughter's shirt off and brought her along on the back of her own bike to attend the race.

Most would agree that such an environment is no place for a child to be period, let alone a place for them to be half-naked on the back of a bike.

Here is the video (again, content warning for nudity):

Gateway Pundit described the action as "disgusting," while one commenter wrote that, if people like this were in control, Western civilization would be steered into an "abyss."

The World Naked Bike website for the United States responds to the question: "What about children? Aren't They Especially At Risk From Seeing Naked People?"

The response unabashedly indicates that children are allowed to participate in the "family-friendly" event, though there are not babysitting services.  There is also a little lecture on how children see nudity:

"The idea that somehow children are negatively affected by non-sexualized nudity is a myth. Children are more likely to be curious if nudity was discouraged in their family. The only thing prudish parents have to worry about is that their children might want to get naked themselves if it looks like people are having fun. As children grow older they are more likely to resent repressive parents if they think they lack common sensibilities."
