The Abrams tank has been in service since Operation Desert Storm, serving its purpose to “kill other tanks.” But the changing face of war and the reality of budgets have led Pentagon leaders to tell Congress they don’t need the tanks. Not refurbishing the military relic would save billions, but Congress faces the prospect of the job loss that would result from cutting the tank from service.
On 'Real News' Monday the panel discussed the practicality of the tank in modern warfare, and the economic and political issues facing the looming military sequestration and tax cut hurdles with the fiscal cliff.
