Another Photog Captures Picture of a Sweet Couple -- But This One Has a Twist

“We knew that we were going to be split up once we got to Central Booking."

We've seen our fair share of photographers sneaking snapshots of couples getting engaged and sharing a kiss and then later issuing a social media plea to try to identify them. But this latest one takes on a bit of a twist as the couple beginning to smooch is in the process of being taken to court -- in handcuffs.

Taken by Brooklyn photographer Mo Gelber in August, the couple in the image he calls "Last Kiss" needed to be identified so he could legitimately enter it into a contest. Here's what Gelber wrote in his Facebook search for their identity:

I have approximately 24 hours to find them. It is very important. I took this photo outside Manhattan criminal court on Thursday August 16th.

I entered this photo in a major contest which I am about to win and need them to sign a release form. When this photo wins the contest, they will be in a very big movie with famous actors and directors.

They did recently come forward with the new deadline for permissions paperwork to be signed set for Saturday. The New York Daily News reports the woman in the photograph contacted Gelber Thursday. Alexis Creque, 28, explained she and her boyfriend, a 26-year-old, were caught spraying graffiti on a Lower East Side Manhattan building. Creque was posing as a lookout for her boyfriend.

Now that at least one member of the party has been identified, the paperwork problem should be solved, right? Nope. Even though Gelber has until Saturday to receive permission to use the photograph in director Ron Howard’s Project Imaginat10n contest, Creque, who is not publicly identifying her boyfriend, refuses to sign release until he is let go:

“We knew that we were going to be split up once we got to Central Booking,” Creque, 28, told The News explaining the passionate peck and that her boyfriend of five months is still “locked up somewhere in Brooklyn.”

Gelber said he is worried the male won't be released before his deadline but is willing to "bring the release form to Rikers" in order to win the contest.
