David Barton Joins Glenn Beck to Discuss the Role of Fasting and Faith in America
September 28, 2012
Conservative author and historian David Barton joined Glenn Beck on his show on TheBlazeTV Friday to discuss the role of fasting and faith in American society today.
Barton explained that there are different kinds of fasting; it's not just about going without food for long periods of time.
"Well there's different kinds of fasts in the Bible. There's what's called a Daniel fast... it's kind of what happens at Lent, you give up something really special to you for 40 days," Barton said.
Barton used the example of someone giving up Coke for Lent, saying each time that person desires what they are giving up, they are supposed to pray and use the urge as a time of "replacement."
