Obama, Romney camps use Politico to tout their side in V.P. debate

On the Obama and Romney campaign websites, Politico reporters and editors are heavily cited to puff up their respective candidates' performance in last night's debate.

Politico editor Jim VandeHei along with White House Correspondent Mike Allen are quoted on Obama's campaign site in a post headlined "Substance and specificity." The quotes are either favorable of Vice President Joe Biden's mastery in "substance" of the debate or critical of Rep. Paul Ryan failing to deliver "hard truth."

Over at MittRomney.com, Politicoreporters Byron Tau (“Reaction Lines WAY Up For Ryan's Explanation Of His Medicare Reforms.”) and James Hohmann (“Ryan Is Very CALM And POISED...) are quoted. VandeHei's name gets a mention here as well (“I Thought Paul Ryan Did A Good Job Of Stepping Back And Saying, ‘This Is What Mitt Romney Would Do’…”)

Two different worlds...

Several other news outlets are cited for reaction to the debate as well, but none (save Washington Post; CNN tied for citations) as often as Politico.

We reached out to Politico for comment and will update if they respond.
