The Wall Street Journal has a "Give the Grade" feature on its website wherein readers can issue a letter grade (doesn't include "incomplete") in several areas on last night's V.P. debate.
At this moment, here's the average grade WSJ readers have given Vice President Joe Biden and Rep. Paul Ryan.
1. On mastery of facts, details and figures: Biden C+, Ryan B.
2. On ability to explain and defend positions: Biden C+, Ryan B.
3. On poise, presentation and attitude: Biden C-, Ryan B+.
4. On success in boosting central message: Biden B-, Ryan B.
On a 4-point scale (without the plus-minus system), Biden has a 2.25 GPA. Ryan has a 3.25.
Granted, WSJ's editorial board leans a little to the right, so it stands to reason so do most of the readers.
