Journalists seen as less honest than dentists, psychiatrists

In a game of "Who Do You Trust?" journalists come up shorter than they'd probably like.

A new Gallup poll shows that only one in four Americans (24 percent) give journalists "very high" marks in terms of "honesty and ethical standards." Roughly the same number (30 percent) give journalists a "very low" rating. Forty-five percent say journalists are average when it comes to honesty.

Meanwhile, Dentists, doctors who arguably trigger the highest anxiety in patients, are graded "very high" on honesty with 62 percent. Psychiatrists, the doctors who charge by the hour for listening, receive 42 percent in the "very high" column.
