Yeah, Google's Gmail and Chat Are Down (Again) With Upset Users Taking to Twitter

For the many users of Google's Gmail, Chat, Drive and other applications, the morning and early afternoon hours Monday were disrupted by an unknown error.

The outage was experienced on browsers including Chrome and Safari. This was the message that could be seen when the page failed to load.

At least once within a 10 minute time-frame service returned on Chrome but then went out again.

The website Down Right Now confirms that there is a "likely disruption" with the services. According to Google's own status page, a service disruption is noted as well. The company says it is investigating the problem and will provide answers shortly.

This is also at least the second time in the last six months that the service has experienced disruptions, much to the chagrin of expectant users. Like the previous outages, many took to Twitter to 1) express frustration of how the task they were doing was interrupted and 2) to confirm that they weren't the only ones seeing problems.
