From TheBlaze Magazine: Canada more free than the United States

Canada enjoys more economic freedom than the United States, according to a new report from the Fraser Institute. Alberta leads as the most economically free among the Canadian provinces and the United States. Canadian provinces overall scored 6.8 out of 10 compared to 6.7 out of 10 for U.S. states.

The scores are based on the freedoms available for personal choice, voluntary exchange, freedom to compete and security of private property. “The link between economic freedom and prosperity is clear: Provinces that support low taxation, limited government and flexible labor markets benefit from greater economic growth,” said report coauthor Fred McMahon, in a statement. “In contrast, provinces with reduced levels of economic freedom see lower living standards for families and fewer economic opportunities.”
