Police Respond to Call About 'Man Screaming for Help' -- And Here's the Surprise They Found

The Putnam County Sheriff's Office in Tennessee responded to a call last week from a resident concerned that they heard a man yelling for help. What the officers found instead might surprise you -- it was actually a goat.

The Herald Citizen (via UPI) reported even police dispatchers hearing the screams over the phone. And when deputies Will Page and Gary Davis headed to the area where the sound was coming from and got out of their cruiser, they too heard what sounded like yelling.

“We could hear what appeared to be a man screaming for help in the direction of a residence on Jackson Passage north of Edwards Lane," Page told the Herald Citizen.

Following the screams, the deputies found a goat tied to the fence. They told the concerned caller everything was alright.

This isn't the first time a call has been made over such screams only for authorities to find a goat instead. The Herald Citizen reported last year though that the goat making all the noise really did need help as it was tangled in the woods.

Videos of goats yelling have recently been going viral. There are countless videos of goats screaming like humans posted on YouTube and it even became popular to include the screams as a joke in songs as well.

Here's a compilation video of screams posted last month that has more than 15 million views:

This story has been updated to include a different picture as it came to our attention through a Blaze reader that we had featured a sheep instead of a goat.
